Assessment
A communication or feeding assessment is conducted for each new client unless they come with a recent, and relevant report from another speech pathologist. Assessments guide both families and therapists in planning for therapy, and highlight strengths and weaknesses in order to determine how to best help your child. An assessment will take 45 minutes for a standard, or 60 minutes for a comprehensive assessment session. The assessment fee includes a written summary report provided to you within 2 weeks of completion of the assessment.
Consultations or Therapy
Once a communication or feeding difficulty has been identified, your speech therapist will typically recommend 2-10 sessions of therapy to target this area of weakness and provide parents and carers with support to organise a home environment rich in communication or feeding opportunities. Blocks of therapy are also typically recommended on a term by term basis. These details can be discussed individually with your therapist.
